Dr. Mickelsen earned a diplomate from the American Academy of Medical Legal Professionals in 2014 and holds certifications in auto crash reconstruction, functional capacity evaluation (including cognitive), whiplash biomechanics, and mild traumatic brain injury traumatology.

In the medical-legal arena, he has been designated and testified as an expert chiropractic physician, injury biomechanist, auto crash reconstructionist, functional capacity evaluator, and impairment evaluator.

Dr. Mickelsen became a chiropractor because of how effective it was at relieving his neck pain.

He sustained his first neck injury at the age of 12 which resulted in an extremely painful condition known as Torticollis. He suffered through it for 3 weeks before finding someone who could effectively treat him.

At the age of 20, a diving injury resulted in 3 fractures in his neck, and at the age of 24 he was rear-ended at 55 mph. He woke up in the back seat of his car a football field away from the crash.

Dr. Mickelsen is acutely aware of how frustrating it can be to go from doctor to doctor looking for relief and not being able to find it. He is also aware of how incredibly appeasing it is to finally find a treatment modality that provides needed relief.

He enjoys doing for his patients what has been done for him through chiropractic.
